International and I-20 Admissions Process
Merritt Academy is approved to issue an I-20. An I-20 allows international students to receive an F-1 visa to legally begin school in the United States. For more information, visit the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services website at www.uscis.gov.
Procedures for Obtaining an I-20
- Merritt Academy must have a completed application before issuing an I-20.
- Admissions international application fee of US $150.
- Official acceptance offer from Merritt Academy.
- Merritt Academy tuition + technology fee must be PAID IN FULL [some additional fees may be required based on student program and billed separately at a later date].
- Submit a letter from your banking institution indicating you have sufficient funds to cover tuition for one year.
- Provide an American address where student will be living.
In order to quickly and efficiently process the I-20 application process, it is first necessary for an I-20 application to be completed. Please contact the Admissions Office to have an I-20 application processed. Please also have the following documentation for the I-20 application:
- Passport and Birth Certificate
- Guardian’s Information
- School Records and Certificate of Enrollment, translated in English
- Letter of Recommendation from the School Teachers, translated in English
- Family Census Register or Family Information, translated in English
- Financial Bank Statement
Upon receiving approval from the country of residence for the student to travel on a student visa, the student may finish the enrollment process. To enroll in Merritt Academy, the following documents are required:
- Student Visa
- Transcripts from Current School, translated in English
- Immunization records, translated in English (International Students will not be admitted without a current TB test)
- Completed application form and follow the registration process as outlined for all students.
