A note about the application process:
We encourage prospective families to reserve a half hour private consultation call by phone or Zoom prior to, or as part of their application process. You can book your appointment here.
After the initial consultation, families may contact our admissions office to request a personal outdoor campus tour. Campus tours book in advance, based on availability.
Applications should be submitted before the end of January for optimal consideration for Fall 2023. In February, we begin planning our classroom configurations. Offers go out on a rolling basis.
Merritt Academy also accepts waitlist applications year-round for early childhood placement, as well as K-8 school classes. Families are encouraged to contact Admissions regarding availability or future openings in their child’s age group.
For early childhood applicants (infants through K4/4-5s), please note that while our online application form is undergoing an update, you should use this linked Parent Inquiry Form and submit to admissions. We will add your applicant to our waiting list for their appropriate age group and your desired starting date. You may submit your $75 non-refundable application fee later.
For K-8 applicants, please complete the full K-8 application form below. Your $75 non-refundable application fee can be processed later by credit card or check. Please note that you should download the teacher recommendation and records request for your teacher and current school. For optimal consideration, these items are due by the end of January or sooner. Your child’s admissions assessment should be scheduled after these items are submitted.
- 2022-23 K-8 Admissions Application;
- 2022-23 K-8 Teacher Recommendation Form should be given to your child’s current teacher; and
- 2022-23 K-8 Records Release Form should be provided to your school registrar.
Once these items are submitted to Merritt Academy, we will work with you to schedule an in-person assessment visit for your K-8 student. Applicant families residing internationally or a great distance from the National Capital Region should contact the admissions office if travel to campus is not possible.
