Supporting Your Family Beyond the School Day
Merritt Academy's Before and After School Programs provide families with a safe, engaging, and convenient extension of the school day. From early morning drop-off to enriching afternoon experiences, students enjoy a structured and nurturing environment where they can learn, play, build friendships, and explore new interests alongside familiar teachers and staff.
Whether completing homework, participating in clubs, enjoying outdoor play, or simply spending time with friends, every part of the day is thoughtfully designed to support students' growth while giving families the flexibility and peace of mind they need.
BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM
Our Before School Program offers families the convenience of early drop-off in a warm and welcoming setting. Students can ease into their day through quiet activities, reading, games, and social time with classmates before heading to class.
Parents appreciate the flexibility, while children enjoy beginning each day in a familiar and supportive environment.
- Before School 6:45 a.m. – 8:15 a.m
- Study Hall/Recess & Recreation 3:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.
- Extended Day 4:30 p.m.- 6:15 p.m.
- Winter & Spring Breaks (Service only – no Academics) 6:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
- Summer Camp 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (open to public, weekly and full summer options, academic enrichment available as a special option)
- Before-camp care is offered free beginning at 6:45 a.m.
- After-care from 3:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. is available for $100 per week
MAAP 2026-2027 Program Details
- Tuition: $432 per month
- Hours: Mondays-Fridays 3:30pm - 6:15pm
- Coverage: Includes transportation from the student's school to Merritt Academy and afternoon snacks and activities
We’re excited to announce that Merritt Academy’s After-School Program (MAAP) is expanding to welcome elementary students from select schools near Merritt Academy!
MAAP students are also eligible to attend Merritt Academy on FCPS holidays and teacher workdays when Merritt Academy is in session, giving families added flexibility and dependable care throughout the school year.

Important Notes:
- MAAP will operate on all regularly scheduled school days.
- If FCPS is closed, students may attend Merritt Academy after 3:30 PM, but we will not be able to provide full-day service on FCPS closure days.
MERRITT ACADEMY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (MAAP)
The Merritt Academy After School Program (MAAP) provides a balance of academic support, recreation, and social opportunities for students in Kindergarten through Middle School.
Convenience & Flexibility - We provide safe, reliable transportation to and from Merritt Academy for students enrolled in Mantua Elementary School.
Engaging Activities - From snacks to study time and group activities, your child will have a balanced afternoon with opportunities for learning and fun.
Expert Care - Our dedicated staff ensures that very child receives the attention they need to succeed.
If you’re interested in having your child participate, please complete the interest form below. Submission of this form does not guarantee placement. Schools will be selected based on demonstrated family interest and alignment of the public school’s dismissal schedule with our program hours.
