Grandparents at Merritt
At Merritt Academy, we believe that a child's education is enriched by the love, encouragement, and guidance of the entire family. Grandparents play a meaningful role in nurturing confidence, celebrating achievements, and creating the sense of belonging that helps children flourish both inside and outside the classroom.
Whether you live nearby or support your grandchild from afar, you are an important part of the Merritt community. Your interest in their education, your words of encouragement, and the traditions you share help shape the person they are becoming.
Throughout the school year, grandparents are invited to be part of the Merritt experience through special events, classroom celebrations, performances, and other opportunities to connect with their grandchildren's school life. We believe these shared experiences strengthen the partnership between home and school while creating memories that span generations.
Thank you for being a source of love, wisdom, and inspiration. We are honored to have you as part of the Merritt Academy family and look forward to sharing in your grandchild's educational journey.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
One of Merritt Academy's most cherished traditions, Grandparents & Special Friends Day is a celebration of the meaningful relationships that help shape our students' lives. Each year, grandparents and special friends are welcomed to campus for a special gathering where they spend quality time with their grandchildren through interactive activities, conversations, and shared experiences.
Held in our gymnasium, the event provides an opportunity for students and their guests to participate in fun, hands-on activities designed to encourage laughter, connection, and lasting memories. It's a time for children to proudly share their school community with the people who mean so much to them, while grandparents and special friends enjoy seeing their grandchildren's personalities, creativity, and confidence shine.
This beloved tradition is a wonderful reminder that the support of family extends far beyond the classroom, helping create a strong and connected Merritt community.
