Part Time Infant Assistants
Merritt Academy, a well-established private preschool, is in need of quality Part Time Infant Assistants starting as soon as possible.  Do you love working with very young children and want to be part of an awesome team of educators?  The Part Time Assistants must be available to work from 3:00 to 6:30 PM and have experience with infants.  The qualifications for this position are as follows: 
 - 2+ years of experience in an early childhood setting
 - High school diploma required
-  CDA preferred
 - Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
 - Flexibility is a must in order to be successful in this environment
 - A love of working with very young children

 

Part Time K3 Assistants
Merritt Academy, a well-established private preschool, is in need of two quality Part Time Assistants in our three year old program staring as soon as possible.  Do you love working with very young children and want to be part of an awesome team of educators?  The Part Time Assistants must be available to work from 1:45-6:30 PM or 4:00-6:30 PM and have experience with 3 year olds.  The qualifications for this position are as follows:
 - 2+ years of experience in an early childhood setting
 - High school diploma required

Full Time Instructional Aide (Floater)
Merritt Academy, a well-established private preschool, is in need of a quality Full Time Preschool Instructional Aide (Floater) to work with Infant thru 3 year olds starting as soon as possible. Do you love working with children and want to be part of an awesome team of educators?  The hours for this position are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (hours may be adjusted depending on classroom needs).  The successful candidates should have the following qualifications:

Full Time Infant Assistant

Do you love working with children and want to be part of an awesome team of educators?  The hours for this position are 7:45 AM-4:15 PM (hours may be adjusted depending on classroom needs).  The successful candidates should have the following qualifications:
 - 2+ years of experience in an early childhood setting, especially infants

Full Time K2 Assistant
Merritt Academy, a well-established private preschool, is in need of a quality Full Time K2 Assistant to work in our 2 year old program starting as soon as possible. Do you love working with children and want to be part of an awesome team of educators?  The hours for this position are 8:15 AM-4:45 PM (hours may be adjusted depending on classroom needs).  The successful candidates should have the following qualifications:
 - 2+ years of experience in an early childhood setting, especially with toddlers and two year olds
 - High school diploma required
 - CDA or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred
 - Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
 - Flexibility is a must in order to be successful in this environment

 

Facilities Coordinator
A Fairfax non-profit foundation that manages three local schools is looking for a skilled and experienced Facilities Coordinator. This is a full time position with benefits that reports directly to the Director of Facilities for the foundation. The Facilities Coordinator assists the Director in supervising daily operations of both the maintenance of the schools and the transportation services. This position will create bus routing, monitor driver performance, identify safety issues and operational inefficiencies within the transportation service (40% of your time). The Facilities Coordinator will also need to perform preventative and general maintenance of school buildings, grounds, roadways, and playgrounds (60% of your time). Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, vehicle/equipment maintenance and/or carpentry is a must.

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work as a member of the facilities team
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • 3+ years’ experience in maintenance
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products and general computer knowledge
  • VA Driver’s License with good driving record is required. CDL preferred (CDL required within 3 months of hire)

Camp Counselors
Merritt Academy located in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, responsible and passionate and have experience working with young children.  Camp Counselors are offered the opportunity to teach and facilitate a wide variety of fun indoor and outdoor activities like sports, arts and crafts, and supervise children on field trips. It is essential that the Camp Counselors be strong role models for our campers, be team players and have strong leadership skills.

Preschool Teacher – 4 year olds
A well-established private preschool academy is in search of an energetic and dynamic Lead Preschool Teacher to join our awesome team and work in our 4 year old program. To succeed in this position you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in an early childhood environment
  • 3+ years of experience working with Preschool age group desired
  • Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and age appropriate practices
  • Effective classroom-management techniques
  • Effective leadership and team building skills
  • High-level of verbal and written communication skills
  • CPR, First Aid, MAT certification or willingness to obtain
