On-Call Administrative Assistant
Merritt Academy in Fairfax, VA is seeking a friendly, energetic and reliable self-starter for a part-time ON-CALL (as needed) assistant. The primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: maintaining the flow of both internal and external communications; managing the daily student dismissal system; answering a busy multi-line phone system; and greeting and welcoming parents and visitors to the school.  The successful candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office and be willing to learn various databases.  Very strong organizational skills and availability/flexibility are a must to be successful in this amazing opportunity! Preschool Teacher – 4 years of age
A well-established private preschool academy is in search of an energetic and dynamic Lead Preschool Teacher to join our awesome team and work in our 4 year old programs.  The responsibilities for this position is as follows:

  • Understand, plan and develop appropriate activities to further the learning of young children
  • Implement age appropriate curriculum for children in their care
  • Foster active participation in the classroom and on the playground
  • Understand the value of play in a nurturing environment
  • Maintain a positive attitude within the classroom and with your teammates
  • Ability to work within a large team oriented children’s program
  • Set developmental milestones

To succeed in this position you will need the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field preferred
  • Able to commit to a 10 month contract
  • 4+ years of experience in an early childhood environment
  • 3+ years of experience working with Preschool age group desired
  • Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and age appropriate practices
  • Effective classroom-management techniques
  • Effective leadership and team building skills
  • High-level of verbal and written communication skills
